Firsts

We had a lot of "firsts" recently.

Last week was our first week of school. We had a great time getting started on our new schedule. The first day we established some rules for our school. The girls helped think of the rules and I typed them up and posted them on our wall alongside the printout of the daily schedule.
We also got our school room all organized on the first day and did our first science experiment and workbook work. We will be studying Oceans this whole year in school and are so excited since we live so close to the coast.

Here are some pictures of our first day in school.

Our first science experiment to see that wind causes waves. We had to get our hands wet too, just because that's so fun to do!

Another first happened last week when Alia got stung for the first time by a bee. Ouch! Luckily I had some Haloquem that helped it feel better.

The next first happened yesterday-Madelyn lost her first tooth! She had it wiggling in her mouth for about two weeks. I finally pulled it out yesterday when it looked like it was about to fall out by itself. Madelyn was excited at first until she saw she was bleeding. It took her a little while to settle down and then be excited again. She's looking forward to her first visit from the tooth fairy tonight since our tooth fairy doesn't come on Sunday.
(The yellow tooth on top is from an accident she had a few years ago when she chipped her tooth on the bathtub. The dentist still assures me that it will not affect the permanent tooth underneath by leaving it in and we just need to wait until it falls out. )
