Cougar Mountain Zoo

Meeting up with our friends at Cougar Mountain Zoo was fabulous.
At the first of the year, Madelyn's best friend moved 3 hours away from us. Very sad day! So we found a somewhat halfway point to meet and had a nice outing. It was great, even if we didn't see any REAL cougars at the COUGAR Mountain Zoo.
The only cougar we saw that day. He was pretty impressive though for being a statue.
My favorite part was seeing the tigers up close. These are my favorite animals. It was neat being so close to these majestic animals.
This zoo is home to a large herd of Reindeer. We didn't see any with a big red nose, but we did learn that reindeer are very good swimmers. Each hair on a reindeer is hollow and filled with air for extra insulation against the cold. This feature also makes them very buoyant.
This zoo has tons and tons of these bronze statues. (I think one of the largest collections in the US). The kids had fun looking at them and sitting on them.
Sign...what sign?
Hmmm...
