The original reason we were traveling to California was to celebrate the life of Aaron's grandpa, Clarence T. His grandpa was turning 90 years old at the end of June and we were all planning on having a birthday celebration with him during the 4th of July weekend. About two weeks before we all traveled down to CA we learned that Great Grandpa T was in the hospital to repair a cracked vertebrae that he had injured in a fall. It was in the follwing weeks that his health began to decline rapidly and we were not sure how long we would have him here with us on earth. He did make it to his 90th birthday, however we all learned on the day we were traveling to CA that he passed away peacefully at about 5:00pm - just a few hours before we all arrived. Aaron's parents were grateful they had made an unplanned trip the week before to see Great Grandpa T.The plans changed and we ended up being able to be together as a family to attend his funeral on Monday. I learned a lot about Aaron's grandpa at his funeral. He was a wonderful man. We learned stories about what a dynamic personality he had. He was a very devoted husband and father. He was hard working and faithful in his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was an excellent man who has left a great example for his posterity to follow.
Here is the picture of the family members who were able to attend the funeral. Aaron's grandma, Velma is in the center. All of Aaron's sibilings and their families were able to come and it was great to see all of them.
