Oregon Coast

We took a vacation to the Oregon Coast last week as a family reunion with Aaron's side of the family. Alia and Madelyn went down with the Grandparents a day before Aaron, Ashlie and I since Aaron was really sick and Ashlie had a scratched cornea. After Aaron and Ashlie recovered, we headed down on Friday. On Saturday we got to see some of the coast and visit with everyone.

It's getting warm and we're getting in the water

Swimming lessons and summer temperatures are happening around here lately which means my laundry pile is regularly filled with these...(no wonder my laundry load seems to have doubled in the last little while)

Happy Mother's Day

My girl's got an early start on Mother's Day this year by bringing up a cup of tea and banana bread on Thursday night.

They even brought me a receipt that says:
"1 cup of tea
1 bread slice

pay 3 hugs
and 3 kisses

sweet service

walk in welcome!"

I am so grateful to be a mother. I feel so blessed to be able to raise my three beautiful girls (and the next baby on the way). I think I have such an awesome husband who has always worked hard and provided so well for us so that I can stay home with my girls and be a full time mom and homeschool teacher. I love each of them with all my heart.

A Rather Blustery Day

A couple days ago we had a really big wind storm pass through. So for entertainment we made some simple "bag kites" that the girls had a blast flying from our deck.

Those magical zippers...

I love being a parent. My kids always give me a fresh perspective on everyday items. Take the common zipper. To most of us zippers are probably something you don't think much about or maybe take for granted. I saw zippers in a new light when yesterday after zipping up her jacket Ashlie says to me with wonder in her voice "mom, why do zippers seem to work like magic?". Alia gladly showed Ashlie how zippers work so the "magic" became less of a mystery, but you could tell zippers in her eyes were cool little things.
